NCECN is a 501 C(3) organization, with our sister group Southeastern Emergency Communications Network, we cover the state with the Carolina 440 https://carolina440.net/, we are the major provider of communications to Amateur radio operators as well as Governament Agencies, by providing alternative to the State operated \"Viper\" System, and are currently deploying new repeaters that provide frail-over for the P25 users of Governmental agencies and direct connection to the Raleigh/ Durham EOC Command Center.\r\nWe also provide Comms in each 100 EOC Center with our VoIP phones and links\r\nOur system do not utilize internet as our main form of linking, but use RF linking with Internet as enhancement. Our coverage is from eastern banks of NC such as Cape Fear and Wilmington through the rest of the state and have now a new foot print in the western part of the state covering as far as Boone and with expected connection to Mt Mitchell and the affected areas by Hurricane Helene, to the state line...The systems are used by several public service groups, Community Emergency Response\r\nTeams, NWS SKYWARN programs, National Hurricane Center, NC State AUXCOMM and ARES,\r\nCanine Emergency Response Teams, Urban Search and Rescue Teams and other Charitable\r\nfundraising groups during community events for health and safety coordination. Our goal is to\r\nexpand the system to a wide coverage state system, ( See VISAR ) In addition the Corporation\r\nengages in communications training activities, technical maintenance and education for\r\nemergency communications and simulation drills. \r\n\r\n
